Lamborghini Urus has just been launched in India at a price of Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom, India). The Urus is the second SUV by Lamborghini till date as the first one was named LM002 and was retired almost 25 years back. Also, the Lamborghini Urus is one of the few vehicles from the company's line up that have made it to India just a few days after the global debut. In case of the Urus, the powerful SUV has made its presence felt in India after 38 days of its global debut that took place at the company's Sant Agata Bolognese headquarters. The Lamborghini Urus draws its power from a 4.0-litre V8 twin turbo engine mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The engine is good for churning out a maximum power output of 641 hp along with a peak torque of 850 Nm. All thanks to this, the Urus can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 305 kmph, making it the world's fastest production SUV right now.
The engine gets an all-wheel-drive system as standard that adds off-road capabilities to the vehicle. The engine also gets multiple driving modes out of which one is named as Ego that offers the liberty to customise the car to varied requirements. Furthermore, the Lamborghini Urus comes equipped with an adaptive air suspension system that helps it balance off-roading and comfort with ease.
The cabin of the Lamborghini Urus takes forward the typical philosophy of the Italian automaker. The instrument cluster of the new Urus takes its inspiration from Huracan and the central console along with the steering wheel also look quite familiar. The leather seats are electronically adjustable and there is also a multi-zone climate control system to take care of the atmosphere inside.
Bookings for the Lamborghini Urus have already begun at the company's dealerships in India a few weeks back. In fact, the first lot of cars have already been sold and the outlets are not accepting any more bookings. Still, in case a customer wants to book the SUV, he or she will have to wait till 2019 to park an Urus in their garage.
